notebooklm-mcp-upstream-consolidates-42-to-38-tools
The upstream notebooklm-mcp-cli v0.5.17 consolidates our 42 granular tools into 38 action-parameterized tools (e.g., source_add(source_type=url|text|file|drive) replaces 4 separate source_add_* tools). The consolidation gains 20 net-new capabilities including studio_revise, cross_notebook_query, batch, pipeline, tag, notebook_query_start/status, chat_configure, notebook_get/describe, source_describe/rename, source_list_drive/sync_drive, refresh_auth, and save_auth_tokens. Skill SKILL.md must be fully rewritten when upgrading — tool names are not backward compatible.
