ResearchClaw v0.4.0 ships as a stdio scaffold with 6 placeholder handlers, but the installed v0.3.1 wraps it in a custom streamable-HTTP adapter exposing 11 tools to ORACLE. Upgrading naively would eliminate 5 tool surfaces and break the ORACLE seam. The config schema also grew 6.3× between versions. This requires a dedicated design session with decision_matrix before any migration attempt; the pre-upgrade backup was retained at /opt/enterprise-backup/researchclaw/pre-upgrade-20260415/.
