AutoResearchClaw is configured with Opus 4.6 for the 8 critical reasoning stages (hypothesis generation, experiment design, paper writing, peer review simulation) and Haiku 4.5 for the 15 routine stages (topic init, resource planning, formatting, export). AutoResearchClaw natively supports primary + fallback model config, making this a zero-code configuration change. Using GPT-4o-mini or Gemini Flash was rejected to stay within the Anthropic ecosystem and avoid external API dependencies.
