The xAI API key from console.x.ai only covers xAI/Grok model access (Phase 1 xint commands). Direct X API v2 access (Phase 2: search, profile, tweet, thread, trends, watch, stream) requires a separate Bearer Token from developer.x.com. These are entirely separate systems with separate credentials, billing, and rate limits. Confusing the two results in 401 errors when attempting X API v2 calls with an xAI key.
