desktop-connector-migration-gate-add-before-remove
When moving an MCP server from VPS permanent registration to Claude Desktop custom connector, never remove from .claude.json before confirming the Desktop-bridged UUID-prefixed tools appear in the new session. The capability gap between removal and Desktop-side confirmation can leave the server unreachable for an entire session. Protocol: (1) add URL to Desktop connectors, (2) open new session and verify UUID-prefix tools visible, (3) only then remove from both .claude.json files and cascade-update MEMORY.md.
