trigger-dev-cloud-warm-starts-criu-vs-selfhosted-cold-starts
Trigger.dev Cloud provides CRIU (Checkpoint/Restore In Userspace) checkpointing and warm starts in the 100-300ms range, while self-hosted Trigger.dev only supports cold starts. For autonomous agents requiring low-latency resumption, this is a meaningful performance advantage of the managed offering. Self-hosted cannot match this without significant custom infrastructure work.
