Without PostCompact verification probes, context loss after compaction is completely silent — the session appears to continue normally while critical details are gone. The fix is four typed probes (Recall, Artifact, Continuation, Decision) that run immediately after compaction and block resumption on failure. An Artifact or Decision probe failure must force re-reading the relevant source file before the session proceeds.
