claude-code’s MCP client struggles with SSE handshakes on certain servers even when the server advertises both SSE and HTTP streamable transports. Re-registering as type: http at the /mcp endpoint resolves the connection failure immediately. When an MCP server shows ‘Failed’ in claude mcp list and the server is known-healthy, try switching from sse to http transport before deeper diagnosis.
