The MCP tool list in a Claude Code session is snapshotted at session start. Toggling a Desktop Custom Connector on or off mid-session has no effect on the current session’s available tools — a /clear or session restart is required for changes to take effect. Desktop-bridged tools appear in the session with UUID-prefixed tool names (e.g., mcp__25c8febe-…__*) and disappear entirely when the connector is toggled off in Claude Desktop.
